Getting Started with Your Free Plumbing Price List Template

Our Google Sheet price list template is designed to be comprehensive yet simple, helping you standardize your pricing for consistency and profitability. Follow these steps to build a professional price list for your business. For your convenience, a copy of these instructions is also included on the ‘Instructions’ tab within the Google Sheet.

To get started, fill out the form on this page and hit download. You will receive an email containing a link to the Google Sheet, then you can follow the next steps.

Important First Step: Make a Copy of the Template Before you begin, you must save a copy of the Google Sheet to your own Google Drive. The original template you receive is view-only. This ensures every user starts with a clean, original version.

To make your own editable copy, simply:

1. Open the Google Sheet.
2. Go to the File menu in the top-left corner.
3. Select Make a copy. Your new, editable version will open, and you can now follow the steps below.

Step 1: Customize with Your Business Information Open your copied Google Sheet and navigate to the “Company And Job Information” tab. Replace the placeholder information and enter your company’s name, address, and contact details.

Step 2: Set Your Company-Wide Rates This template works by using your core rates to calculate final prices. On the “Company And Job Information” tab, enter all the key variables for each service. Start with the Estimated Hours and your standard Labor Cost Per Hour. Then, add any direct costs like Material Cost, Trip Charges, Disposal Fees, and Permit Cost. To ensure profitability, apply a Markup to your costs and factor in a Discount if needed. These combined inputs will be used to automatically calculate the final price for each service you add.

Step 3: Add Your Services and Costs Navigate to the “Plumbing Price List Details” tab. In the “Plumbing Price List Details” tab, the template automatically reflects all the values you entered in the job detail section. Based on these inputs, it instantly calculates and displays the key pricing tiers for each service. Here you will see the final Standard Price, the premium After Hours Price, and any special Agreement Price for contract customers, clearly showing how your Markup and Discount are applied.

Step 4: Save and Share Your Professional Price List Once your list is complete, review the “Printable Report – Full Summary” tab to see the clean, professional version of your price list. You can print this for your records or share it with your team. To save a digital copy, go to “File” > “Download” and select “PDF Document (.pdf)”. A PDF is a non-editable format perfect for sharing.

Step 5 (Optional): Print a Blank Field Copy For situations where you need to fill out a price list by hand, the template also includes a blank version. Navigate to the “Printable Report – Blank Summary” tab to print a clean copy that can be completed manually while on a job site.
