Brett has a fascinating background. He’s a certified public accountant, and also spent time working as an aircraft mechanic. Not a common combo! But it wasn’t until he partnered with a roofing contractor years back that he discovered his true entrepreneurial calling, which makes the most of his CPA business sense and love for hands-on work.

Whether healthy or toxic, an organization’s culture starts at the top. Brett gets that leadership is best “taught” by example. This includes values like loyalty, genuineness, and the acceptance of failure as a path to growth. In his view, mistakes should be embraced as learning opportunities. “If we don’t accept failure and fail fast, then we’re not trying.” 

He also emphasizes the importance of showing up on time, maintaining a clear vision, and building a strong network. “Your net worth is based on your network. Get your Rolodex out and start filling up your contact list. Have a clear vision. Review it often.” 

These principles have been instrumental to the company’s growth.

Brett is leading a team devoted to exceptional customer service and solid processes. “I am constantly seeking ways to train, acknowledge, and reward the crew.” He loves watching the employees win and accomplish new goals. The commitment runs deep. Brett sees a future where ownership is gradually transferred to the dedicated men and women who form the backbone of the company. 

It’s not just about growing a successful roofing company. “I am working on becoming the ambassador of Armament Coatings so that we can do community projects and be more involved with the community.” They’re set on making a long-term, positive impact on the Fresno area in terms of employment opportunities, service, and helping other local businesses thrive. Brett has also expressed the desire to mentor other businesses, helping them achieve success.
